Overview

Getting around the Region Sales Heat Map Insight Panel is very similar to getting around the State Sales Heat Map, so we recommend that you review that documentation page if you are really just getting started with map-style Insight Panels. The Region Sales Heat Map compliments the table-style Insight Panel, the Market Sales Overview Insight Panel. Both provide a "retailer's" view of their sales performance. If you sell to Home Depot, Lowe's or other large retail chains, you know that they typically report sales by market or district or other arbitrary regional distinctions.

The Region Sales Heat Map is interactive; you can click on a given region, and you will be presented with a sales report by store for that region. All of the parameters you selected in the panel's Settings Gear will be carried into the report. You can easily change the Insight Panel so that it displays market, district, RDC regions and more. The Region Sales Heat Map differs from the State Sales Heat Map in one very crucial area - this map gives you the ability to look at sales data based on markets/patches rather than states, and you can also use this map to display your custom sales regions in a geographic fashion. To learn more about setting up and using custom regions, please visit the Custom Regions documentation page.

Getting Around the Region Sales Heat Map

As mentioned before, the Region Sales Heat Map Insight Panel is very similar to the State Sales Heat Map, so if you want to watch a video tutorial to learn how to navigate the Insight Panel, please visit the State Sales Heat Map video tutorial.

The coolest thing you can do with your Region Sales Heat Map is to use it to demarcate and display the custom regions you have set up, and have all markets within that custom region display their sales data. If you already know how to set up custom regions, then simply follow along below to see how to display a custom region on the Region Sales Heat Map and what that display looks like:
